Margin/loss/profit figures are a simplified estimate, not NSE's actual SPAN margin. Defined-risk strategies show real max loss; undefined-risk strategies show ~12% of notional as a rough proxy. Real margin is dynamic (recalculated several times daily, rises with volatility) — ours is a static snapshot and can understate real requirements, especially for volatile stocks or near market events.
